Hello dear beautiful friends,
Apologies for the lack of recent updates, I've been a busy guy!! Hope to have lots to post in the New Year - 2010 is looking to be an amazing time for all!!
Got New Year's plans yet? Check it out, yours truly (and hopefully you too!) will be co-creating an amazing New Year's celebration:
Intention Alberta 3
Last year's Intention 2 was my first big community focussed co-creative event that I attended, and honestly, it changed my life. To be with such amazing people, creating such an amazing energy, it changed my perceptions and ideas from that point forward. I strongly recommend that you attend this event if you are looking for a deeper, more meaningful transition into the new year. Can't wait!!

mix post #5
Good day beautiful people!
This is the one you've been waiting for... I think :)
Here with my fifth mix post, is my most recent mix:
A GLOBAL PROGRESSION (Spring 2009)
This is probably my finest work to date, one that I am extremely proud of.
'Global Progression' is a progressive mix of tribal, house, and world beat sounds.
This year has seen me focus more on positive and uplifting tracks, as well as a more earthy sound - this mix oozes tribal and purcussive beats, long builds, and ecstatic moments of pure pleasure - please enjoy!!
As always, this mix is not for sale or for profit, it is for personal enjoyment and promotional use only :)
Oooo and I should mention, my new mix is in the works and should be completed very very soon!! I am extremely excited about it!! Stay tuned!

BARDO, Fresh Imports party and Eternal Photography
Hello my beautiful people!
First off, BARDO was an amazing success. What a surreal event! Seemed to me like we were on a different planet, what with all the crazy and far-out costumes. I had a great time opening the party and getting the crowd warmed up for the huge line-up of amazingly talented local DJs. THANK YOU to all for your continued loving support!
On another note, last Sunday October 25th I had the pleasure of DJing a grand opening party for Fresh Imports flowers, and their neighbors, Eternal Photography had stopped by to capture the event. They took some amazing photos of me performing and posted them to their blog - WOW. A HUGE thank you for their work and for supporting me with promotion.

mix post #4
Good day my beautiful people
Here we go! MASSIVE MIX POST #4
Tribute to the B-Line (fall 2008)
This was last fall's big project for me, and it turned out awesome in my opinion
Wanting to step outside of the norm, I compiled some of my favorite tunes spanning many genres, including ragga styles, house, breaks, b-more, electro, dubstep, garage, and more, but all the tracks seem to come back and emphasize one thing - the BASSLINE... hence the title. At the time I was being influenced by many different things: people, DJs, parties, venues, etc, and this really speaks to that. I wanted to be able to show that I'm not the sort of DJ who sticks to one strict style, genre, or crowd - this mix is definitely different, varied, and FUN.
FYI, this mix is for promotional use and personal enjoyment only (not for sale or profit).
I really hope you enjoy this one
Cheers,
Nate

mix post #3
If I keep going at this rate, I'm gonna run out of mixes to post. But no worries, I've got lots to upload at home, for now I'll post my most recent and if feedback is positive, I'll head to the archives and dust off some of those old house mixes I was doing back in the day.
Here is the 3rd mix:
Furias vs Spektacle - SeptemberMash
This is a mix that we recorded live at Sal's on 17th last September. 'We' being myself and my good friend and fellow DJ Jeff M, aka Furias. We were semi-regular guest DJs at Sal's, and could really get the crowd going when we did tag-team sets. So we decided to hit record one night so we could promote our team a little.
This mix has a very clubby vibe, with many house, electro, and fidgety "warehouse" style tunes. A fun mix for sure. This mix is stricly for promotional use and personal enjoyment only.
Cheers,
Nate

NateSpektacles DJ History
A brief run-down of my DJ History - events, parties, gatherings, gigs, etc.
I'll likely add to this over the next little while:
Pre-1999 - My love for music has been strong since I was young. In high school, emerging groups like Chemical Brothers, the Prodigy, Orbital and others really cemented my love for progressive electronic music. Once of age, I started frequenting night clubs in Edmonton, AB that featured good DJs and lots of house and electronica...
Late 1999 - Attended my first 'Massive'. DJ, Rave, and Party culture was huge.
2000-2001 - Started experimenting with mixing and producing, although I had limited means of doing such... I made do though, I had to create :)
~2001 - bought my first house record on vinyl... the 'black crack' addiction began
2002-2004 - Hosted numerous house parties where myself and roomie would spin all night long :) There were also a few smaller parties I got to be a part of, and one big party in Vancouver where I got a chance to play at 5:00am. I was nervous, and it showed, but one really awesome compliment afterwards totally made my day.
2004-2005 - Moved to the country (Bragg Creek then Black Diamond), where I began focussing on a lot of hip-hop and turntablism. Still did some house mixes, I'll try to find and post an oldie for ya. Also became good friends with a great crew at Camp Horizon, and they threw numerous parties out in the forest which was really sweet.
2005-2007 - Attended Olds College, was able to throw 3 DJ parties in the student residence pub. Turn-out and vibe was great, especially considering this is an Agricultural college.
2008 - This is the first year where I really started gigging and building my name and a following.
The Return of the Pussy Willow - Camrose, AB
Michaelangelo's Lounge ('The Bar') - Friday night residency - Calgary, AB
Sal's on 17th - various nights - Calgary
MASH @ Tipperary's Pub - Calgary
2009 - this year has been amazing. Less gigs, but better gigs (IMO). Shied away from the club scene, as I was not finding night clubs to be my favorite environment. Became involved in local community, and found some amazing groups of people in Edmonton, Calgary, and elsewhere, where I could share my love of music, and truly express myself creatively.
- Intention 2008 (New Year's) Pigeon Lake, AB
- InVision: TheWay (Spring Equinox) Pigeon Lake, AB
- Purple Octopus Dungeon (POD) (more on this soon...) house parties Calgary, AB
- POD Fest (Spring) Calgary, AB
- INSHALA II - Lethbridge, AB
- ARTSpot Parties (Local art Gallery) Calgary, AB
- Symmetree (Fall Equinox) Pigeon Lake, AB
- A few other house parties too :)
The summer months I was gone mostly, attending various festivals and gatherings, so not many gigs, but seeing so much talent and so many beautiful people co-creating really inspired me to keep going strong and continue on my musical path. I hope to become more a part of all these events in the future.
Events I attended:
Intention Alberta
Invision:TheWay
Inshala II
PODFest
North Country Fair
South Country Fair
Shambhala (first time! whoa)
Astral Harvest
Symmetree
2009 has been so much fun, and I'm not slowing down! Looking for many more opportunities for the rest of the year, and beyond.
Future gigs for this year/near future:
-BARDO Halloween Party - Oct 30
-Future POD parties
-Future ARTSpot parties
-Evolve[-]d intentional gatherings
-And more I hope!
Currently working on getting a spot for the following festivals next year:
North Country Fair
South Country Fair
Astral Harvest
Shambhala?? (my ultimate goal....)
And many more.......... if all goes well ;)
There's a lot more for me to share, but I'll wrap it up for now...
Thanks for reading!
Love Nate

mix post #2
Good day my lovely people.
Here's the next dj mix up for grabs.
Electrostatic
This is an electro house mix I did in summer of 2008. Last summer I was a busy lil DJ, having a weekly resident night at a small Calgary lounge 'Michaelangelo's', as well as playing a semi-regular spot at Sal's on 17th... Electro house was still HUGE for Calgary clubbers, and this promo mix includes some of the hottest electro house tracks and producers of the day. This mix is for promotional use and personal enjoyment only.
